Headphones Visual

The following provides a condensed visual history of headphones.  It classifies the evolution of headphones starting with the early days, in which they were created by Nathaniel Baldwin for the military.  It then describes the “Koss Takeover,” the era following the creation of stereo headphones by John C. Koss.  Next, the author describes the “Portable Era,” which covers the Walkman and iPod headphones.  The last section includes the influence of fashion and celebrities on headphones.  The source also comments on how headphones have evolved to be more of a fashion statement than a practical technology.
