Radio: Goebbels Perspective

Wireless to THE NEW,YORK TIMES. (1935, Aug 17). GOEBBELS HAILS RADIO AS POLITICAL DEVICE. New York Times (1923-Current File) Retrieved from

The article is about a 1935 German radio convention and is primarily centered around a statement that Germany’s Propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, had made regarding the influence of radio. Goebbels espoused the political power that would result from the amount of connection that the German government had with its citizens.

Looking back this was an incredibly ominous statement. The extent of the Nazi propaganda machine was enormous, radio programs were created with the sole purpose of brainwashing the public. These kinds of articles remind me that radio is just a tool that can be used for any purpose.
