This website goes into serious detail about all the raw materials used in an MRI. Not only does it provide an extensive list of materials, it gives lengthy descriptions of all the functions of each part in the MRI machine. Some of the materials that the article mentions include magnets, gradient coils, niobium, helium, and nitrogen. The article also mentions a brief history and background of the MRI. It explains the manufacturing process for all the parts and talks about the future focus for the MRI machine. The current research for the MRI is to improve the scan resolution, reducing scan time, and improving MRI design. The main method of accomplishing this would be to reduce the signal to noise ratio.
All the scientific terms made this article difficult to read through and understand. Each explanation was properly organized and followed chronological order, but the overall process of manufacturing and MRI machine is a highly difficult task. It was helpful that the website provided additional sources the reader could look at to understand more about the information it gave.
Not very many people of the general public know and understand the manufacturing process of the MRI machine. Including this information in my essay would be beneficial in providing background information about the MRI.
